Resources - Black History & Culture

FOR NEW THOUGHT WHITE ALLIES TO EDUCATE THEMSELVES, FAMILY, COMMUNITY

We are counseled by African American friends in New Thought that it is the responsibility of the White community to learn about the Black experience in history and our social institutions.   It is also our mandate to gain a fuller awareness of the manifestations of racism and "white privilege" to which we might unintentionally fall prey.

These FREE resources will "scratch the surface" of this ongoing pursuit. They are not designed for academics  or experts but are accessible and engaging for a mainstream audience of all ages.

Program for Ministers

The Unity Center, S.D.

"Dismantling Racism." Support Materials from Rev. Wendy Craig-Purcell and the Braver Conversations Team

The Unity Center in San Diego is offering a self-led training FOR MINISTERS who want to conduct a program for congregants in their local center or online. This is a 5 session program modeled on the multi-year offering carried out at The Unity Center

Facilitated by Rev. Wendy Craig-Purcell, this program (V-WAG for short) is a simplified and condensed version of the original White Allies program presented at The Unity Center. Using the same course materials participants will meet with Rev. Wendy and gather together in small (virtual) breakout groups lead by a team of co-facilitators.
