As a psychotherapist and spiritual teacher (meditation/yoga), I come into daily contact with clients and students who struggle with the toxicity of our political system and the lack of connectedness perpetrated by our culture. This struggle can lead to apathy and, indeed, hopelessness. Each of us must stand up for what we believe -- make certain our elected officials clearly hear us. If, in fact, the greater problem is systemic, then even speaking with our representatives will not be effective. What will be effective, I believe, is the creation of small groups, linking to like-minded groups so as not to re-invent the wheel, hearing the concerns of one another, and creating an action plan that links to the action plans of others, dedicated to moving forward towards beauty and truth and honesty. Talking without action is no longer effective. Believing our government is on our side is no longer tenable. Our individual meditations must include metta for ourselves so we can extend to others compassionate action. Our small group in Simi Valley is called "OurEvolution". What is the name of yours? We would like to hear what you are doing, and we will share what we are doing as well. Thank you.

Our group is called the Association for Global New Thought. Thank you for sharing those very coherent and articulate representations of this reality.
