Powerful Icons of Peace and Nonviolence: Oscar Romero and the 4 church women who were murdered in 1980.
Oscar Romero and Lay missionary Jean Donovan, Maryknoll Sisters Ita Ford and Maura Clark, and Ursuline Sister Dorothy Kazel will be highlighted in this session of People of Peace. Not too much has been spoken about these women. Their work of peace was abruptly and violently stopped when they were abducted, raped and murdered by government forces, on December 2, 1980. Their witness to faith continues to be honored by the Church. Salvadorans continue to celebrate the lives of the four church women almost as much as they do the life of Oscar Romero.
Lunch in the Casa dining room followed by a presentation about these extraordinary people of peace.
Presenters: Mauro Pando and Dr. Albert Celoza
